Women's Health: Maternal & Child Services
Mothers and their infants and children are very special to us. That's why we offer the finest medical care that skilled professionals and advanced technology can provide. Victor Valley Community Hospital Maternal Child Services offers comprehensive family centered health care for women and children with the support of Obstetricians, Pediatricians, Neonatologists, and a competent and caring Nursing Staff.
Labor & Delivery
Our Maternal Child staff is committed to making every childbirth experience pleasant and beautiful. We have newly remodeled Labor and Delivery rooms which have been designed to create a warm, homelike atmosphere.
For those who want to experience the miracle of childbirth within the safety of a hospital, we offer traditional labor, delivery and recovery services. Our new Women's Health Center is complete with the latest ultrasound technology which allows you a three-dimensional view of your new baby. For parents who want to experience the miracle of childbirth in a home-like setting within the safety of a hospital, we offer beautifully decorated birthing suites for labor, delivery and recover. We also offer traditional delivery in our labor and delivery unit with recovery in private or semi-private rooms.
Post Partum
The Post Partum unit is conveniently located next to the nursery. You may choose to keep your new baby in your room, or to have complete nursing care when you need to rest. Breastfeeding support and education is available as well as complete instruction concerning the care of your newborn.
Mothers and their guest will enjoy a special dinner their first evening in our care. All mothers and babies receive a diaper bag filled with sample items from various companies to make the transition from hospital to home a pleasant one.
NICU
Victor Valley Community Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is a special two-bed nursery for high-risk, premature newborns and infants requiring special medical attention following birth. Our state-of-the-art unit is equipped with monitored isolettes, warming beds, sophisticated breathing and feeding equipment to provide complete care for these special infants. Parents are encouraged to visit and spend quality time with their babies whenever possible. Our highly skilled nursing and medical staff are committed to provide quality care during this period.
Pediatrics
In our ongoing effort to increase the community's access to quality children healthcare services, we are pleased to announce our recently remodeled and expanded 16-bed Pediatric Unit.
The staff at Victor Valley Community Hospital recognize that hospitalization for children can be an uneasy experience. Our Pediatric Unit is designed to make children feel comfortable and parents at ease, knowing their child will receive the best possible care. A playfully decorated area is available for ambulatory pediatric patients and their siblings. Special audiovisual equipment is available to provide children with games or movies that can be enjoyed from their bed or inside the playroom. Adult sleeper chairs are also located in each room, to provide parents a comfortable place to rest while staying with their child.
Children's safety is a priority at Victor Valley Community Hospital. For this reason, we have installed state-of-the-art security cameras and door alarms. In addition, each child is issued a wristband censor to ensure their utmost protection and safety.
